Gombe State Government has announced a 200% increase in scholarship allowances to students with disabilities across tertiary institutions.
Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya made the announcement on November 4, 2025, during the flag-off of the 2025 Scholarship Payment for Gombe State indigenous students in higher institutions. All beneficiaries received a 100% increment, while students with disabilities got a 200% raise.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the Gombe State Commission for Persons with Disabilities expressed its gratitude to the Governor for his inclusive policies and efforts in promoting equity, dignity, and equal representation.
Recall that under his leadership, the Gombe State Disability Law was signed in 2024. This initiated tuition-free education for students with disabilities in state-owned tertiary institutions.
