The Deaf community in Kirikasamma Local Government Area of Jigawa State is celebrating the appointment of a new monarch.
The news of the appointment, celebrated with a turbaning ceremony, was disclosed by the Secretary General of Jigawa state Association of the Deaf (JSAD) Musa Abbas Balele on Sunday.
The District Head of Kirikasamma LGA made the appointment in his palace before notable dignitaries, “including emirate officials such as Hakimin Kirikasamma, Hakimin Turabu, Chairman of Kirikasamma LGA, Hon. Muhammad Maji Wakili Marma, members of the Deaf community from various wards of the LGA, among others, and everyone expressed great joy over this significant occasion”.
According to Balele, who made the disclosure on his Facebook page, the dignitaries shared valuable advices with the new monarch regarding the welfare and inclusion of the Deaf community in Kirikasamma.
Representing JSAD and Jigawa state chapter of Joint National Association of Persons With Disabilities (JONAPWD), Balele said the community “prayed that the appointment of the new Sarkin Kuramai of Kirikasamma brings progress and inclusivity to the Deaf community at large”.
