Hon. Abayomi Arigbabu has taken another step to advance inclusivity and advocacy for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in Ogun State. The Honourable Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology distributed mobility aids to students with special needs in schools across the state.
“Today, I had the privilege of leading the distribution of wheelchairs and white canes to learners with special needs across Ogun State, in line with the Prince Dapo Abiodun administration’s commitment to inclusive and equitable education,” he stated in a post on his official social media handle.
“We remain resolute that no learner will be left behind as we continue to build a more inclusive and learner-friendly education system.”
The Commissioner has shown consistent interest in special needs accessibility and inclusiveness, prioritising improvements to educational infrastructure for PWDs. Just last month, the Honourable Commissioner visited the School for Children with Special Needs, Ilaro, to assess as part of the Third Term Resumption Monitoring Exercise for the 2025/2026 academic session.
For years, stakeholders and concerned citizens have called on the government to create a level playing field for students with disabilities in the country.
This action is expected to ease mobility and improve accessibility for these students, empowering them to engage and participate more fully in academic activities.
