The Executive Chairman of the Nasarawa State Disability Rights Commission (NSDRC), Hon. Saleh Barde Keana, has facilitated the permanent employment of a Deaf woman, Miss Zulai Ibrahim, with the Nasarawa State High Court of Justice as part of the Commission’s sustained efforts to promote the inclusion of persons with disabilities in the state’s public service.
According to Inclusive News, during the presentation of the appointment letter to Miss Ibrahim at the Commission’s headquarters in Lafia on Tuesday, Hon. Keana described the appointment as a significant step toward ensuring that persons with disabilities are adequately represented across government institutions.
He noted that the employment aligns with the Commission’s mandate to advance equal opportunities for persons with disabilities and supports the directive of Governor Abdullahi A. Sule, which requires all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in the state to allocate at least five per cent of employment opportunities to persons with disabilities.

Congratulating Miss Ibrahim on her appointment, the NSDRC Chairman urged her to approach her new responsibilities with dedication, integrity and professionalism. He encouraged her to uphold high standards of service and serve as a positive representative of the disability community.
Hon. Keana reiterated the Commission’s unwavering commitment to protecting and promoting the rights and welfare of persons with disabilities across Nasarawa State. He assured that the Commission would continue to strengthen advocacy, monitor compliance with disability inclusion policies, and collaborate with relevant government institutions and stakeholders to ensure the full implementation of laws and policies that safeguard the rights and opportunities of persons with disabilities.
